Stonebridge to Complete SBA E200 Initiative

Chris Tolar, President of Stonebridge Builders, will be graduating from the SBA's e200 Initiative on October 23, 2012.  The Emerging Leaders (e200) Initiative is a federal training initiative that specifically focuses on executives of established businesses, currently poised for growth, from communities across the country and provides them the organizational framework, resource network, and motivation required to build a sustainable business of size and scale.

Chris states: "For the past 7 months, I have been attending the e200 business 'bootcamp', in an effort to develop and refine the strategic direction of Stonebridge Builders.  The best part of the program was getting the chance to network with other Denver metro business owners, and learning about their businesses.  I have met folks ranging from microbrewery to insurance to security business owners, and we all share common challenges.  This has been an incredible journey."

The graduation ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 6pm at the Aurora Civic Center.  The Aurora Mayor and City Council will be present.

Stonebridge Successfully Renews Commercial ICC License

To ensure that Stonebridge Builders continues to provide exceptional client service with the knowledge of recent building code updates, Chris Tolar recently updated his Commercial International Code Council (ICC) designation.  The ICC building codes change on a continual basis, and it is critical that all construction/remodeling firms understand the latest updates to ensure projects are remodeled in a safe and consistent manner.
 

Stonebridge Earns State of Colorado Cost Containment Certification

Stonebridge Builders is pleased to announce its recent State of Colorado Department of Labor Cost Containment Program Certification.  In 1989, the Colorado state legislature enacted the Cost Containment Program with the objective to decrease the number of employment-related injuries.  Companies that implement and maintain a standardized loss prevention/loss control program are eligible for certification. 

"We have worked diligently over the past few years to implement a comprehensive loss prevention program to help keep our employees and subcontractors safe while on the job site.  Construction sites can be a dangerous place if they are not properly managed, and we want to keep all of our crews out of harm's way," stated Chris Gustavson, Vice President of Stonebridge Builders.  "We are extremely proud to have achieved our Cost Containment Certification, and are especially thankful to our Safety Director, Justin Newburn, for implementing and managing our safety processes.  We couldn't have done it without Justin."

Stonebridge Builders Earns Certified Green Designation

Stonebridge Builders is proud to announce its recent Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation.  Earning the CGP designation has increased Stonebridge Builders ability to design and build green homes that provide buyers with lower energy costs and higher value.  Additionally, the designation increases Stonebridge Builders' ability to incorporate green-building principles into homes without driving up the cost of construction.

Stonebridge Builders is one of just nine contractors with the CGP designation in the Denver Metro.  Chris Tolar, President of Stonebridge Builders, states "We are very pleased to have earned the CGP designation as this knowledge will help us to offer cost-effective building solutions for our clients who are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental impact of their remodeling projects."

Stonebridge Builders Becomes Certified EPA Lead Renovator/Contractor

Stonebridge Builders has earned its accreditation as an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certified Lead Renovator/Contractor. 

To protect against the risks of lead-based paint, the EPA issued a rule aimed at preventing lead poisoning.  Beginning in April 2010, the EPA rule provides that all contractors performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. 

Completing the certification is a critical step for Stonebridge Builders due to the various renovation projects performed by the company, particularly in historical homes and facilities.  Chris Tolar, President of Stonebridge Builders states, "even though it is relatively clear to most of our clients that historical homes are at a high risk of containing lead-based paint, some clients are not aware that apartment buildings built around 1978, even into the 1980's, may also be at risk of including lead-based paint.  Because we work in both residential and multi-family apartment buildings, we are glad to be able to offer lead-based paint renovation techniques that will protect our clients and in some cases, their tenants."
